In a small, sunlit apartment in the heart of Tokyo, Miko stood on her bed, her bare feet sinking slightly into the soft comforter. The early morning light poured through the sheer curtains, casting a delicate glow over her tousled hair and the myriad of mismatched pillows that adorned her bed. Miko had always been a dreamer, a trait instilled in her by her grandmother, who used to tell her fantastical tales of brave heroines overcoming insurmountable odds. “One must stand tall to conquer the world, even if it’s just on the bed,” her grandmother would say, a twinkle in her eye.
